Using the MMPI-2-RF in Assessments of for Bariatric Surgery Candidates
Presented by Pearson
Location: TBD

This intermediate level workshop is designed to inform practitioners who conduct pre-surgical evaluations of bariatric surgery candidates about how best to use the MMPI-2-RF (Restructured Form) in these evaluations in particular. The workshop will begin with a brief overview of the MMPI-2-RF by Yossef S. Ben-Porath, PhD, co-author of the test, followed by a presentation on a model for these evaluations by Amy K. Windover, PhD, of the Cleveland Clinic. The presenters will then present findings on use of the MMPI-2-RF in assessing bariatric surgery candidates and provide empirically-based recommendations for using the test in these assessments. The workshop will conclude with
a series of case illustrations.

Learning Objectives
This workshop is designed to help you:

1. Describe the MMPI-2-RF scales and the constructs they assess
2. Rely on empirical findings to assess weight-loss surgery candidates with the MMPI-2-RF
3. Utilize the MMPI-2-RF bariatric surgery comparison group data
4. Incorporate MMPI-2-RF findings in bariatric candidate surgery evaluations

Three CE credits are available for those who attend the full three-hour workshop. No partial credit will be given. Pearson is approved by the American Psychological Association to sponsor continuing education for psychologists. Pearson maintains responsibility for this program and its content.
